The news today is a bit self-centered but I have lots of good blogs waiting in the wings for this week so I suppose it won't be too horrible to wade through my megalomanical self-aggrandizing bullet points:
- Judge - Yep I'll be helping Andy and crew judge entries to the first ever (that I'm aware of) search engine marketing scholarship. You get free consultation time with Andy a paid pass to visit SES Chicago a copy of Aaron Wall's SEOBook membership to KeywordDiscovery and lots of other cool stuff. Retail value here has to be over $3000 but more importantly you'll instantly become a personality in SEO (which carries a lot of weight)
- Podcaster - I was on Podtech's Marketing Voices podcast with Jennifer Jones talking about some tips for bloggers. I was thrilled to do it but I know that some folks thought it would be more valuable to read the content rather than listen to me talk about it. Luckily all the stuff I mentioned basically comes from my increase blog traffic post.
- PubCon Speaker - Brett has polished off the speaking schedule and I'll be contributing to two sessions - Search Blog & Reporter Forum (which looks like a ton of fun) and Viral/Word-of-Mouth Marketing which as readers know I'm extremely passionate about. Also - we've just booked Jeff Pollard & Jane Copland (who have never been to an SEO industry event before) at Pubcon as well. They'll be sure to give SEOmoz-style coverage which isn't typically as fast as Barry's but should give a nice feel for the conference content and social scene.
Last words here - any post that contains the word "megalomaniacal" should probably also include a picture of one of the greatest cartoons on television today one that embodies everything about that word that is humourous ironic and farsical:
Kudos go to the first non-SEOmoz employee (including you Mystery Guest - BTW she was on Good Morning America today anyone see that?) to accurately identify the characters:
